Over the weekend, the boyfriend and I went out to a local seafood restaurant called The Boiling Crab.. where they slap a bib on you, bring your food out in plastic bags, and probably look at you funny if you try eating with anything other than your bare hands. And it was ahhhmazing! We ordered shrimp, mussels, corn on the cob, fried calamari, and cajun fries. Needless to say, we left there feeling stuffed but satisfied. The shrimp and mussels came in plastic bags, soaked in sauces of your choosing {cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, or garlic butter}. We went with what they call "the whole sha-bang," which is pretty much another way of saying "all of the above, please." White paper serves as a pseudo-tablecloth, and there are no utensils or plates to be found. Eat with your hands, leave the empty shells, ketchup, etc right there on the table. Not only was it delicious, it was a super fun place for a date -- though not, we both decided, a first date. Too messy, and at an hour and a half, the wait was almost unbearable. Almost. Stick through it, though, and you won't be sorry.

I love restaurants where not only is there good food, but its a whole new experience with the bibs and eating out of a plastic bag. 1hr and a 1/2 wait though! That's long.
MMmmmmm!! Looks yummy!! I tried crab in Baltimore and liked it, but would prefer to have the meat already out
This looks amazing! You are lucky to have the best restaurants in LA! Glad it was worth the wait : )
Happy New Year!

I really need to start trying more seafood! I've been testing the waters with it lately, and I've been pleasantly surprised. Looks like a fun date!

I've missed you, girl!! How's life?
Haha I went here recently, too! When they tied the bibs on us I didn't know what we were in for, but it was definitely yummy! :)
