Bloggers Inspiring Bloggers

Hello! Is anybody out there? Remember me? The terrible blogger? Needless to say, I've been overly neglectful and, while I wouldn't call this a comeback, I've been feeling inspired these past few days {and have had more time on my hands while off from work for the holidays} and so I decided to stop by here. Since my last update, there have been many changes {big and small} but we can go into all that some other time. After doing some pinning on Pinterest {you can follow me here} I realized just how much bloggers can inspire and empower other bloggers, whether that's in terms of style, dedication, voice, and so on. So today I put together a look inspired by another blogger, whose outfit {and blog} I stumbled upon by chance on Pinterest. I love the way she paired printed jeans with a cozy knit, booties, and aviators. Here's my take on the look.
Top: AX Paris; Jeans: 2nd One; Booties: H&M; Necklace: New Look; Lipstick: NYX

Thank you to Atlantic - Pacific for the inspiration!

Friday's Fancies

Guess who made her way back to her little blog? This girl. I know I've been a pretty terrible blogger.. I've almost forgotten how this thing works! Okay, not really. I don't have any good excuses as to why I've been missing. And I will refrain from promising to be better because, well, we've seen how that's gone in the past. But one of the many things I've missed about blogging -- Friday's Fancies, of course! This week on {long distance loving} we're putting together our favorite looks for running errands. And for me, when I picture myself running around the city trying to get things checked off my to-do list, the first thing that comes to mind is comfort. But that doesn't mean you'll see me out and about in sweats! When it comes to running errands, a pair of perfectly worn-in boyfriend jeans, a graphic tee {I've already showcased my love for those here} and some cute flat sandals are ideal. And as much as I love big bags, a cross-body one is much easier to lug around when it comes down to doing business.
Top: Wildfox; Jeans: Rag & Bone; Shoes: ASOS; Bag: Michael Kors; Hat: Charlotte Russe; Bracelet: Kate Spade

Even though I'm an LA girl through and through, this shirt from Wildfox Couture was too cute to pass up! What's your favorite go-to outfit for running errands?

PS - Although I haven't been around, I've heard talk about GFC disappearing soon and while I don't know what's happening with that, I do know you can very easily transfer the blogs you're following over to Bloglovin so please be sure to follow along {here}

PPS - Since people have asked, I've tried adding links to where you can find these items below the collage and will make it a point to try doing that from now on! Enjoy!

Breakfast by the Beach

Just because I've been away from this little blog for a while doesn't mean it hasn't been on my mind. I've thought a lot about the direction I want to take this blog and the things I want to feature more or less of. Something I've always wanted to do more of on here is food and restaurant reviews, only because I'm a self-proclaimed foodie and definitely have had my fair share of dining out and trying new places all over LA. So today! We're talking about breakfast by the beach. Santa Monica beach, to be exact.
We recently decided to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and spend the day at the beach. We had breakfast at The Ocean Park Omelette Parlor, a cute little place we discovered only days before via Yelp. Happy to say we were NOT disappointed. The ambience of the place was so perfect -- exactly how you would picture a neighborhood breakfast joint to look. Situated right on Main Street, it was packed with families, couples, groups of friends. From the outside, it looks quaint and old-timey, but they have plenty of room on the inside, as well as a back patio. Vintage photos and Christmas lights adorn the brick walls, cozy booths line both sides as well as the center of the room, and it just feels like the quintessential family restaurant.

And we haven't even gotten the food yet! We had the Breakfast Burrito and The New - Z.J. Boarding House Omelette, respectively. The omelette was full of fresh veggies {asparagus, mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, and tomatoes} while the burrito was packed with the good stuff {scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and avocado with a side of sour cream and pico de gallo}. Both plates came with breakfast potatoes and were big enough to share. Add fresh, cold orange juice {complete with pulp!} and some good coffee and it's safe to say this place got us hooked.

At Last

So, it's been a few months. Sorry about that. I was busy slaving away between finishing up my last semester at school and interning and trying to maintain a social life in the midst of it all. But here's what's new:
Yesss I've officially graduated, done with school, and embracing it with open arms. Summer has truly never felt so sweet. And! Believe it or not, this little blog still holds a special place in my heart and so I WILL try to be better at updating, now that I really.. don't have much of an excuse.

Hope you are all enjoying summer so far! And hopefully there are still some of you out there reading this.

Burgers, beer, and fried mac & cheese balls. So bad but so good
First time ice skating at a fundraising event
Mojitos before class with a girl friend
Easter Sunday with my family {coffee and chocolates are a must}
Enjoying my coffee & French Vogue at school
Starbucks' new hazelnut macchiato and Girl Scout cookies

Life lately according to Instagram! That's all for today. Spring break has officially started and, though I don't have any solid plans, I'm looking forward to a week of sleeping in and not thinking about all of the final papers that will be kicking my butt soon enough.

Spring Baubles

I'm almost embarrassed to show my face around here. Almost. I really don't have any exciting reasons as to why I've been so MIA with blogging, responding to comments, and commenting my favorites. As many of you know, this time of the semester is always a tough balancing act, especially now that it's my last few months as an undergrad. Yes, soon it will all be over! And I'll be back! Anywho, because it's Easter and because it really has been feeling like Spring here in LA, here are some of my favorite Spring jewels.
I've always loved statement necklaces, and I think pastel ones like these two from J Crew and Vince Camuto are so perfect for Spring. And while I personally don't own too many floral prints and the like, I find myself loving hints of floral here and there this season. These Tory Burch earrings are perfectly subtle yet girly. To make a bigger floral statement, this bracelet from Coach is colorful and pretty. And you know how much I love mint green and a nice watch.. put the two together, and you have a winner ;) this kate spade new york watch is super cute and unique for Spring time {I've seen a similar one by Marc by Marc Jacobs that is equally adorable}

What are some of YOUR favorite statement pieces for Spring?
